• As the key point of contact between a minister and their civil servants, my tasks included: Commissioning teams to fulfil the Minister’s requests; arranging meetings & visits; briefing officials on government policy; preparing the minster for parliamentary scrutiny; summarising and recording ministerial decisions; and managing stakeholder engagement.

• I was responsible for ministerial correspondence, parliamentary questions, & freedom of information requests. I designed and introduced a new system that reduced the time taken to process invitations from seven minutes to thirty seconds per invite. • I halved the Minister’s backlog of overdue letters & won an award for improving cooperation between teams.

I organised workshops for Commonwealth parliamentarians to strengthen democracy and good governance. Projects included:I arranged a three-day virtual workshop on select committees with Parliamentarians and clerks from the UK and Lesotho. I designed a workshop programme; sourced speakers; and chaired discussions on launching committee inquiries, tracking implementation, and effective scrutiny of government. I was part of a team conducting a systematic review to examine research use in education. Using EPPI-Reviewer software, I inputed studies into our database for screening. The project was halted due to Covid-19.

• I conducted a review into the department’s internal communication system by surveying and interviewing hundreds of staff members.• I evaluated the success of early interventions in Adult Social Care, then co-authored a report explaining how to translate these findings into the Nottinghamshire context. • I organised and led a council-wide workshop to map community assets across the county.

Embrace fundraises and buys necessities requested by local homeless shelters. We founded Embrace during my time as Just Love Local Coordinator. • During our first year we raised over £1000 which we used to provide homeless shelters with requested supplies, including 384 thermal socks, 288 toothbrushes, 240 boxer shorts, 72 pairs of gloves, 48 hats, and 38 blankets, all at wholesale prices.
