Specific expertise in: Hardware and Software design and implementation, evaluation and pursuit of Intellectual Property, communication and teaching of basic and advanced principals and techniques of ultrasound imaging. Example projects:1) Provided technical leadership to Orison Corporation with the development of an automated, ultrasound, 3D breast scanning system. The system makes use of a unique multiplexed curvilinear array and mechanical motion to quickly scan the entire breast. Specifically, provided array design, MUX architecture, and the implementation of the clinical application software. Orison partnered with Ultrasonix Medical Systems to further develop the Embrace 3D Automated Breast Imaging Systems. The new system is called SonixEmbrace and it won recognition from Aunt Minnie as the “Best New Radiology Device” in 2012.2) Co-founded USUT Labs, a company focused on applying ultrasound technology to challenging NDT projects; e.g., the detection of hidden corrosion on the F-15 wing and the KC-135 wing. These SBIR funded projects resulted in the delivery of automated inspection hardware to Robins Air Force Base and Tinker Air Force Base.
