I am a SEND teaching assistant with 5 years' experience working in a classroom setting, running small groups, and creating and delivering 1:1 interventions. My experience in keyworking students with complex and additional needs has enabled me to gain confidence in differentiating and tailoring interventions to needs of the specific child, whether this is for emotional literacy, social scenarios, or academically-focused.I have gained a broad and well-rounded knowledge of the secondary school curriculum through my years in education, with a specialism in English and Literacy. I have spent 4 years delivering English and SEN-accessible literacy interventions whilst providing pastoral support to young people with additional needs. I have recently furthered my repertoire to include delivering Fresh Start phonics interventions to support children with complex needs to develop their literacy skills and widen their potential to engage across the school curriculum.I am especially interested in about child wellbeing and education. I've worked with children from ages 3 to 16 in both employed and voluntary capacities. I've fueled my passion through my MSci Psychology degree, exploring a range of modules including educational psychology, childhood developmental disorders, and child and adolescent mental health. I recently completely my Masters dissertation on the importance of education in the rehabilitation of juvenile offenders. I enjoy learning about people and behaviour, through socialising, education and wider psychology research. My own third-year research project examined how personality and family dysfunction could influence cyberagression, which is especially relevant in schools. I continue to nurture this desire for information through my ongoing CPD, including attaining my recent L3 Teaching Assistant qualification. I love using what I know about people to help make the world a bit kinder through my sensitivity to others and patience - one person at a time!
