As a Field Instructor at ESU's Gender and Sexuality Center for Multicultural Affairs and Inclusive Education, I oversee the practical training and supervision of 1-8 BSW Social Work interns. My role involves facilitating student learning experiences that seamlessly incorporate social work theory, practice, and research. I meticulously review and align learning objectives, tasks, and activities outlined in students' education learning agreements.In addition to maintaining a supportive environment, I provide constructive feedback to help students critically assess their strengths and identify areas for growth and progress. My responsibilities encompass delivering ongoing performance feedback and completing comprehensive written evaluations to ensure the continuous development of each intern under my guidance.

I create pathways for success by providing strategic and budgetary oversight and development for the Center for Multicultural Affairs & Inclusive Education, the Gender & Sexuality Center, and Interfaith and Spirituality programs. I manage $43,000 across three budgets to support administrative and programmatic efforts aligned with the university’s mission of inclusive excellence. I design and implement campus-wide initiatives to promote cultural diversity and awareness, foster inclusion, and develop interfaith and spirituality programs. I supervise a diverse team that includes two administrators, a secretary, four full-time graduate assistants, a graduate student worker, two student workers, and an intern staff of 3–8 interns. Collaborating with various departments and external partners, I enhance recruitment, retention, and graduation rates, enrich the student experience through leadership development, civic engagement, and targeted programming, and provide guidance to multicultural student and Greek organizations. I lead intercultural training, oversee social media and website management, and execute fundraising and grant strategies to support multicultural initiatives and scholarships. Additionally, I assess strategic plans, serve on university-wide committees, and continuously work to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion across the campus community.

I supervised a suite complex housing 496 residents and a traditional hall accommodating 220 residents. In this capacity, I diligently selected, trained, and evaluated a diverse student staff, including a graduate assistant, two head residents, 17 resident advisors, and 30 desk receptionists. I also, managed three budgets totaling $12K, allocating funds for both administrative and programmatic expenditures. Anchored in a commitment to student well-being, I spearheaded the implementation of a residential engagement plan emphasizing community development and academic success. Contributing to a positive living environment, I actively supported programming and policy-making efforts. As a first responder to emergency and crisis situations, I collaborated with Campus Safety, CARE, and other Campus Life departments, ensuring a swift and coordinated response. The administrative responsibilities of the residence hall, including openings and closings, staffing the residence hall office during posted hours, conducting weekly occupancy audits, facilitating room changes, and addressing various administrative requests, were all managed with precision and efficiency.Maintaining a keen eye for facility conditions, I reported any unsatisfactory maintenance and health conditions through the Capstone on Campus Management systems, fostering open communication with hall support staff. Beyond the day-to-day operations, I took a strategic approach by developing and implementing success plans for the Transfer Student, STEM, and Honors Living Learning Community programs. Additionally, I provided guidance to student leadership organizations, including the National Residence Hall Honorary, Moses Society, and Community Board. My dedication extended to participating in a rotating weekly and holiday on-call system, offering emergency assistance to staff and residents, underscoring my unwavering commitment to the holistic well-being of the student community.

In my role as Resident Director, I successfully managed a traditional hall housing 222 residents. Key responsibilities included the meticulous selection, training, and evaluation of a dynamic student staff consisting of 1 Head Resident, 6 Resident Advisors, and 12 Desk Receptionists for the assigned hall. My leadership extended to the development and implementation of the residence hall's residential curriculum and social programming, fostering a vibrant and inclusive community.As part of my responsibilities, I adeptly adjudicated student conduct hearings and prehearing meetings, providing first-level counseling and making appropriate referrals to internal resources when needed. My commitment to student well-being also involved monitoring building maintenance and health conditions, while maintaining positive and collaborative professional relationships with maintenance and custodial staff.In my capacity as Program Coordinator, I played a crucial role in training and supervising student staff, overseeing the planning, and implementation of all multicultural programming. A key aspect of this role involved developing assessment tools and conducting assessments for the functional area and programming, ensuring ongoing refinement and improvement based on feedback and student learning outcomes.Throughout both roles, my dedication to creating a supportive and enriching living and learning environment for residents was evident in my multifaceted approach, combining administrative oversight, student development, and programmatic excellence.
