Born a raised in Cornwall, I spent my childhood and teens slowly introducing myself to artistic techniques and photography with the help and advise of my father, who gave me my first camera at about 15, a Pentax ME Super 35mm, I wore this to the ground through my late teens shooting Cornish landscapes and experimenting with infra red black and white film amongst other creative ideas.After studying illustration and photography, in 1998 I landed a job in London as a junior photo retoucher, this introduced me to the creative and skilled role of a retoucher and digital artist. Since the June of 1998 I have built upon this skill and remained as a retoucher as well as branching into cgi, studio photography and even illustrating a couple books ( The 7 Laws of the Golf Swing and Kinetic Golf, both by Nick Bradley ), in 2003 I joined FTP Digital ltd as senior retoucher, then as of 2009 promoted to the role of co-director, since March 2012 FTP Digital has become part of Paperhat Group and is now known as Paperhatftp where I am Senior Retoucher.Working on the images of some of the industries top photographers and agencies from advertising campaigns to editorial has given me the knowledge & discipline to further enhance my own photographic work, in both a business and creative sense.Although the Pentax I was given all those years ago is stored away in a box somewhere, the memories, mistakes and lessons learnt are not. Inevitably I have since 2003 turned to digital capture, moving through the Canon ranks from a d60, 20d 5dmk2 & 3 and finally since this year my 'Holy Grail', Nikon d850.Personally I specialise in landscape photography, but anything outdoors and epic grabs me.Specialties: Adobe Photoshop, Retouching, Landscape Photography, Timelapse Photography, Macro Photography, Previsualisation and concept art.
