The Vice President for Student Affairs serves as the Chief Student Services Officer of the College.Overall responsibility for providing leadership, management, and supervision for all student services programs including the following: student services personnel, financial aid, recruitment/retention, enrollment management, residence life, student health services, student activities, Athletics, and Upward Bound. Chief Student Affairs Officer is responsible for fiscal management and accountability in the development and management of budgets; monitors spending and approves expenditures according to the annual spending plans; forecast needs and performs budget revisions and prepares budget reports.

As the instructor, I’m responsible for develop class materials, lectures, class assignments, and examinations and evaluating students’ performance and assigning grades. Moreover, as the instructor of Intro Psychology students’ are being taught the berth and some depth of psychology, from theory, to research, to practice. As a professor of course I’m responsible to promote critical thinking such that one can apply course content to everyday life making better decisions; enhancingrelationships; increasing self-understanding. The Director of Residential Life and Student Development is responsible for fostering a student-centered living/learning environment on-campus. Launched first Living Leaning Communities on-campus, 18 total LLCs. The incumbent is charged with developing a community that encourages academic excellence, individual growth and social development. The Director of Residential Life and Student Development is responsible for programmatic and administrative management of all facets of on-campus housing and residence life, both undergraduate and graduate student housing. The Director will serve as the Chief Housing Officer, overseeing all aspects of the housing and residence life program. The incumbent will recruit, train, and evaluate all 7 professional staff for the department. The Director engages in short and long-range planning that reflects institutional goals and aids in the support and realization of these goals through day-to-day housing operations and programs. The incumbent should be well-versed in Federal and State laws related to higher education, Title IX, Clery Act, and other relevant regulations. The Director of Residence Life and Student Development is responsible for coordinating with the Admissions, Registration, Student Accounts and other offices regarding enrollment, housing needs and assignments, and residential facilities maintenance. As well as managing the delivery of services, educational programs 100+, administrative policies and procedures and relevant information. Structure standard operating and working practices and monitor staff to insure standards compliance. Receive and maintain data on student housing operations, assignments (2100), withdrawals, room changes and other operations. Responsible for over 12.5 million in annual revenue (housing & meal charges).

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to providing leadership, training, and supervision to the vision department of Housing and Residential Education. The Residential Associate Dean is responsible for coordinating all division of Student Affairs evaluation efforts, which consist collecting, analyzing, and preparing division wide reports. The Residential Associate Dean works with divisional advisors and faculty to provide academic advisement. Collaborate with the Faculty around Campus (FAC), which implement and evaluate academic retention and cultural programming. House Dean is responsible for assessing the performance of all residential community educational programming throughout the department. Provide training, supervision, support to full-time staff members and other student support employees. Serve as conduct officer and Office of Conduct Hearing Board member. Developed and implemented Morehouse College first educational independent living curriculum; also serving on the University Emergency Dean-On-Call rotation responding to all major concerns with undergraduate students. Serves a member of the Student Success Team. Additionally, severs on several reform committees on campus from Campus Safety Task Force, Fraternity Counsel, Title IX Task Force, and Leadership Development Task Force.

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to providing direction and vision for residential campus. The Assistant Dean for Residential Education, coordinates all curriculum and co-curriculum that promote knowledge acquisition, integration, construction, and application for retention and leadership development of students. The ADRE responsibilities are broad and include assuring that programmatic initiatives are learning-centered and respond to essential learning outcomes as prescribed in AACU. ADRE oversees a cluster of residential students, residential faculties, and student conduct infarctions; the hall activities and the staff associated with such cluster. The ADRE is responsible for the recruitment selection, training and evaluation of the more than 70 staff members. The ADRE also promote individual as well as community responsibility and accountability in all residential education offerings. The ADRE will work closely with the Residential Associate Dean of the Class (RADC) to emphasize theoretical and philosophical constructs of learning and personal student development while developing effective living and learning communities. The ADRE work closely with Division of Student Development units as well as participate in division team meetings to ensure collaborative student development programming. The ADRE also assist with overall development and implementation of policies, procedures and the execution of OHRE operations in accordance with college and professional association guidelines. Serve on the University Emergency Dean-On-Call rotation responding to all major concerns with undergraduate students. Serve a member of the Student Success Team, lead facilitator Residential Education for professional development of the Resident Advisors, serves as the lead facilitator on Resident Advisor selection, serves as the lead of departmental policy reform, and lead facilitator of Healthy Relationship/Conflict Resolution educational seminar courses.

Dean of Residence Life responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to providing direction and vision for residential campus with emphasis on the first and second year experience and retention of all students that matriculate through the University. Develop and sustain living and learning environment that significantly celebrate learning as an integral focus of the residential and university experience. Forge partnerships within academic and student affairs to ensure delivery of a residential experience characterized by community connection, faculty engagement, leadership development, and cultural appreciation. Direct and support numerous house communities recognizing the unique nature and character of each and providing education for student governance including leadership development and training initiatives. Stay abreast of legal requirements related to Title IX, Cleary, and the like and ensure appropriate compliance during response efforts. Serve on the University Emergency Dean-On-Call rotation responding to all major concerns with both undergraduate and graduate students. Expected to be available for contact 24 hours a day, seven days a week.Manage and oversee multiple budgets including general operating, programmatic, and house council; Ensure proper procedures are followed and excellent stewardship of funds is provided. Community Directors assist in the development and administration of a residential programming that meets the goals of the Office of Residence Life at Howard University. The major responsibilities consist of responding to student issues and managing student behavior; maintaining student safety; and coordinating programming efforts that are aligned with the model set by the Office of Residence Life. Community Directors may also assume leadership responsibilities across campus representing the Office of Residence Life through involvement in committees and the community.

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to data collection, data entry, data analysis, final project report writing, conducting evaluative site visits. While at Capstone Institute graduate assistant also travel to assist with the collection of data, observation, and evaluation; graduate assistants have the opportunity to create scales, surveys, and conduct extensive experimental and empirical research. Producing educational & psychological publications.

Responsibilities of position included but were not limited to providing continued guidance counseling, life skills training, and promoting independent student growth in academics and in career training. Added responsibilities include services that ranged from mentor, tutor, facilitator, public speaker, student & staff liaison. Creating and conducting courses and therapeutic groups on Healthy Relationships, Peer Mentoring, Accountability, Passion for Success, Preventative Measures for Adolescent Social Mishaps, and counseled students on a daily basis. Additional responsibilities included advising and coordinating the Student Government Association, which included training and supervising over 30 students.

Responsibilities included but were not limited to providing individual and family counseling, case management, crisis, in-home, and in-school inventions in forms of mentoring, educating, and promoting positive change in displaced adolescents whom are diagnosis with at least one mental health disorder according to the DSM-IV-TR. Added responsibilities included helping displaced youth identify and work toward achievable goals while promoting and providing a positive learning environment for progressive development of adolescents.

Responsibilities included but were not limited to providing individual, family, group, and experientialpsychotherapy for adolescents, participated in group therapy and recreational therapy. Intern therapist are responsible for completing psychosocial assessments, charting progress notes, create treatment plans for patients, maintaining contact with case workers and patients’ families to advance treatment goals. As a counseling intern I received intensive supervision weekly from a licensed profession counselor, clinical team coordinator, and psychiatrist.
