Internationally-recognized leader with 20 years of executive and managerial leadership in global non-profits. Currently focused on citizen engagement, social accountability and locally led development. With a legal background in civil rights, possesses a keen sense of how human rights, the social sector and global development goals converge.     Prior to joining the nonprofit sector, I practiced civil rights law in various capacities. I began a law clerk to two United States District Court Judges and moved to the private practice of law in Jackson, Mississippi where I litigated complex cases under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. On moving the Washington DC, I served as chief of staff for Office for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education during the Clinton Administration, and an equal employment opportunity attorney at the National Gallery of Art.
