During my tenure, BRAC UPGI obtained Audacious Project funding from TED to support a new strategy which cut across all aspects of our work.

• Forms and maintains partnerships with multilateral agencies, the White House, federal agencies and Congress. Leads collective US government advocacy and develops shared positions and strategies to move legislative and policy agendas that engage IA members and partners and realize IA strategy in US and international fora• Designs innovative programs for Annual Forum in Washington DC which brings together 1000 IA members, partners, activists and thought leaders from around the world to define a global agenda, learn skills and foster community. Speaks at and moderates plenary and executive sessions that engage participants on major issues in global development and spring board major initiatives • Aligned all internal operations with the new goals of 2015-2018 Board mandated Strategic Plan by allowing senior staff to openly articulate their concerns about the impact on their portfolios, defining the strategic intent flowing from the new plan, identifying skill gaps and designing a revised operational structure to reflect and achieve the goals• Reformed the internal budget structure and reporting by linking data gaps to decision-making, program operations and resource management. Enlisted reformers on staff to generate potential solutions and Board of Directors seeking improved budget data. Built consensus among senior staff and CFO on proposed systems and reporting reforms for implementation • Regularly serves as a moderator and panelist at public fora; as a thought leader for discussions at the World Bank, Brookings Institution, and the InterAction Forum; and as a keynote speaker at academic conferences• Assessed with senior staff the IA business model allow for both sustainability and growth. Worked to strength existing revenue sources and develop internal culture of fundraising. Success metrics include near 100% giving from Board of Directors, shifting the Forum to the red and tripling the number of institutional funders

Prior to joining the nonprofit sector, I practiced civil rights law in various capacities. I began a law clerk to two United States District Court Judges and moved to the private practice of law in Jackson, Mississippi where I litigated complex cases under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. On moving the Washington DC, I served as chief of staff for Office for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education during the Clinton Administration, and an equal employment opportunity attorney at the National Gallery of Art.
