I am the managing partner for the firm and have been litigating since 1982. I have handled several California state court jury trials to verdict involving wrongful death, catastrophic personal injury and dental malpractice claims. I've tried and co-tried several jury trials in Arizona and have handled hundreds of binding and non-binding ADR proceedings, including arbitrations and mediations. I handle a variety of cases, including personal injury, wrongful death and medical malpractice matters, particularly in the area of misdiagnosis and failure to diagnose melanoma on behalf of Plaintiffs. As managing partner, I supervise and mentor the firm’s associate attorneys, paralegals and legal assistants and am responsible for teaching them trial practice skills. I have coached the firm’s former and present associate attorneys in several Arizona jury trials to verdict. I am actively licensed in the States of Arizona and California. I am a member of the Arizona and California Bar Associations, American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) where I serve as a National Representative and Phoenix Chapter Officer and Director, Defense Research Institute, Maricopa County and Scottsdale Bar Associations, and the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel. I am a trained mediator, and I co-taught mediation and negotiation courses at Stanford and Hastings Law Schools. I was a faculty member of the 2009, 2016 and 2017 Arizona College of Trial Advocacy and taught “Civility Matters” at ASU Law School and bar association events. I have also has been a member of the Board of Directors for a Scottsdale community association and am currently on the Board of Directors for a charitable non-profit corporation dedicated to cancer research. I actively volunteer with HopeKids, a non-profit dedicated to providing events and activities for families of children with life-threatening conditions, and I serve on HopeKids’ hospital visitation team for gravely ill children.
