Lloyd Cornett is a partner at A&B and Practice Group Leader of the firm’s Real Estate Group.Lloyd represents property owners and managers, private and institutional investors, developers, brokers and lenders with respect to real estate. He has been extensively involved in the acquisition, development and sale of properties, the negotiation of joint venture arrangements and construction contracts and the management and leasing of projects. A very large part of Lloyd's practice is focused on commercial leasing matters. He designs and drafts lease documents for differing types of developments, represents both landlords and tenants in lease negotiations, and provides advice regarding lease defaults and remedies. As part of his commercial leasing practice, Lloyd has represented some of Canada's most prominent property owners, managers and tenants, and he has been directly involved in many of the most significant leasing transactions completed in Toronto in the past few years. Lloyd has been a panellist, moderator and a co-chair of the RealLeasing Conference held annually in Toronto since 2002. He has spoken at programs concerning commercial leasing offered by The Law Society of Upper Canada and the Ontario Bar Association, and has been a guest lecturer on construction law issues at the Faculty of Administrative Studies, York University (Schulich School of Business).Lloyd is also a past member of the Advanced Commercial Leasing Institute Advisory Board at Georgetown Law School, Department of Continuing Legal Education in Washington D.C.Specialties: commercial leasing, real estate leasing, real estate, acquisition, development and sale of properties, construction contracts.
