I’ve had roles in various fields ranging from on the ground logistics support to executive level support for island wide military program managers. To this point, my career has focused on the government contracting industry. While I have spent time in financial and executive support roles, I now find myself “back to where I started” in the logistics field. At this point in my career, I’m taking a step back for the next two years while on this contract to focus on where I want to go. This will be my last logics support role as I’m currently focused on attaining my CAPM certification to become a project management professional.Within my roles I enjoy collaborating with co-workers to overcome challenges and achieve organizational goals. I developed this mentality of "we will try" during my time in the Army. I continued to hone it when I was working full time and going to school at night. I am always eager to learn new skills and apply them to my current and future roles. My career goal is to use my skill-set in contract administration and coordination, executive administrative support, and logistics, towards a strategic business development or project management role.When I am not working, I relax by paddling traditional Hawaiian outrigger canoes. I love this sport because it teaches me to blend with my team mates' rhythm and to respect the cultural and community values. Paddling also helps me to balance my physical and mental health, and to appreciate the beauty of nature. The lessons learned in the canoe apply to my professional development. While one member may be stronger or have a better technique than others within the team, it takes the whole team to move the canoe. This translates to always supporting and mentoring those who may benefit from one's experiences and being humble enough to be mentored by those with more experience.
