COL Sutton has served as an Active Duty Army and Michigan Army National Guard officer and pilot for 30 years. With over 95% of his service time in command positions, COL Sutton has been a commander at each level of command from Platoon to Brigade with direct responsibility for the health, welfare, training, and deployment of troops. He served as the B/1-238 Attack Helicopter Company commander for four years. COL Sutton commanded the 1-238 Attack Helicopter Battalion for over four years. In this command position, Colonel Sutton was responsible for 400 soldiers, officers, and aviators. This command had twenty-six (26) AH-1F Cobra Gunship Attack helicopters. Colonel Sutton has also served for 3 years as a Brigade commander. He commanded the 63rd Troop Command of the Michigan National Guard. In this command position, COL Sutton was responsible for over three-thousand (3,000) troops across the State of Michigan. COL Sutton has been a Command Pilot in attack, scout, and utility helicopters for over 29 years. COL Sutton is a Master Avaitor, the military's highest pilot rating. Today COL Sutton serves in the Retired Reserves.

Brigade Commander. Commanded of the 63rd Troop Command of the Michigan National Guard. In this command position, COL Sutton was responsible for over three-thousand (3,000) troops, nineteen (19) armories, one thousand vehicles (1,000) and sixty (60) armed helicopters across the State of Michigan.

He developed executive relationships that led to IBM selling and managing many customer engagements in the areas of integration and infrastructure services. • Designed, developed, sold, and successfully implemented a large automotive infrastructure services solution with hardware and software roll-outs to over 5,000 dealerships nation wide. This solution deployed over 5,000 computer servers across the US, Canada, and Mexico. After successful selling this solution, he resourced, developed, and directed a national team of IBM personnel which conducted a successful deployment with excellent customer satisfaction ratings.
