Founded the Shaw Innovation Laboratory, taking a former large storage room and creating a lab that and has brought cutting edge technologies including virtual reality, 3D printing, industrial scale robots, drones and much more to students both at Shaw and from external K-12 schools as well. Received a $400,000 NSF grant and over $600,000 in funding in 2016 alone. Personally mentored Shaw computer science students who have gone on to work for companies including NASA, Intel, Google, Glaxo, US DOD, US DHS, Fidelity Investments, Cisco, AT&T, Lenovo and IBM at starting salaries as high as $80,000. Conducted extensive outreach aimed at bringing more diversity to STEM with a wide range of community groups and organizations. Awarded as 2017 STEM Educator of the Year by the Research Triangle Park (RTP) Foundation’s STEM in the Park Program.

Worked in collaboration with Google engineers to develop innovative strategies to improve student learning and outcomes in computer science.

Managed department with 12 full and part time instructors. Supervised instructors and day to day operations of department. Oversaw major update of departmental curriculum and learning assessment. Sought out and established business and academic partnerships to benefit students. Currently conducting research on the use of analytics to improve STEM retention.

Created advanced control software to enable robots to dynamically use tools. Modeled extensible robot body schema and dynamic world models. Implemented a dynamic extensible ontology system enabling knowledge representation and reasoning. Integrated these models into a adaptive control system which enabled the acquisition and control of tool using behaviors.

Participated in the creation of a dynamic user interface to control robotic pharmaceutical production. Developed software based cognitive models of operator motivation which guided adaptation of the user interface.

Developed an advanced user interface to facilitate network security applications. Modeled attack scenarios with Bayesian networks and then used the models to search data sets. Programmed graphical user interface to allow security domain experts to create Bayesian networks. Implemented software to generate visualizations of the alert data dynamically based on the structure of the underlying Bayesian networks.

Provided consulting services to aid in the testing of a novel interface technology for mobile computing technologies.

Provided consulting and Internet services to Evergreen Consulting, a firm which facilitates the transition of Korean Companies into the US Marketplace.

Founded and promoted Williams Web Weavings. Designed and maintained web sites for business and nonprofit clients. Administered web hosting services for a wide range of companies. Provided ongoing supervision to contractors on multiple projects. Contributing member to NEOSA (NorthEast Ohio Software Association), HTML Writers Guild, and IWA (International Webmasters Association). Marketed business through television, radio, and print.

Supervised more than 200 workers, over the course of a year, in the construction of a town water system containing over two miles of piping. Integrated modern sustainable agricultural techniques into local farming practices. Supervised translation for five US based medical clinics which treated more than 1000 people. Designed and oversaw emergency relief food distribution program, which served 2347 people, for one year, following hurricane Georges. Designed and implemented improvements to Emergency Evacuation Plan for 157 volunteers in the Dominican Republic.
