I have been designated by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Certified Specialist in Citizenship and Immigration Law.I am a Partner at Basman Smith and have been practicing immigration and commercial law for more than 30 years. My experience in commercial and business law provides me with the knowledge and expertise to better assist individuals and business owners in all aspects of the immigration process.I have an active Asia-Pacific immigration law practice and I am associated with law firms and authorized representatives in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China. I have also acted as legal counsel to the Mississauga Chinese Business Association in Canada. In addition to immigration, I act as corporate counsel to small and mid-sized corporations and their owners. This general corporate law practice includes legal agreements for buying or selling businesses, franchising, distributing, consulting, licensing and general international joint ventures and contracts. I am also a registered Trade Mark Agent in Canada. I represent clients on national and international trademark matters, including the ability of a mark to qualify for registration, assessment, conflict review and application preparation.
