I’m a Zookeeper specialising in the management and welfare of Great Apes, passionate about educating visitors on the ways we think about, value, and interact with wildlife cross-culturally.Zoo Management:I am experienced in the routine care and management of various undomesticated species within EEP, SSP, and PAZAA managed conservation breeding programmes. This includes; cleaning exhibit and holding areas, monitoring animal behaviour, ZIMS management & record-keeping, diet preparation & nutrition, enrichment, enclosure design & maintenance, medication administration, positive-reinforcement animal training, public education, as well as participation and planning for veterinary procedures.Public Communication:I am an accomplished communicator with experience in numerous education roles within zoo, museum, game reserve, NGO, and public health contexts. I hold extensive public broadcasting and wildlife media experience with the BBC and S4C. I am also experienced working and studying within diverse cultural and international environments.Research Interests: Anthrozoology, History of STEM, Cognitive Evolution of Social Systems, Zoo Science, Great Ape Management, Conservation Education, Wildlife Media, Animal Cultures, and Cross-Cultural Animal Welfare. I am passionate about ensuring that all stakeholders are fully engaged, and receive the full benefits and recognition thereof of academic research.
