As the Chief Technology Officer for Nova Home Loans I am responsible for establishing the technology roadmap to ensure that the Information Technology Group is a competitive differentiator. Our focus is on aligning the technology effort with the business strategies and objectives. My passion is to create an environment where technology is not a service organization but a true business partner. It is my job to ensure Nova’s technology efforts result in true innovation and disruption. This IT alignment objective required a redesign of the core Information Technology department structure with corresponding policies and procedures to achieve the stated goals.In addition to reengaging IT and the business, our technology objectives include significant overhauls in nearly every platform. The Nova IT group was responsible for system selection, implementation and integration of new solutions for Point of Sale, CRM, Web Presence and Data Warehouse. Our team embarked on a path to transform data into actionable information to strategically and tactically improve operational outcomes.

I joined Cascade when they were in a transformational state with significant growth plans. These objectives meant the company needed to reevaluate and redesign its Information Technology department starting with a new Chief Technology Officer. The redesign included both Loan Origination and Loan Servicing technology platforms along with enterprise reporting and business intelligence. The department redesign meant that the technology infrastructure needed to be enhanced and hardened along with a comprehensive information security program. IT recruiting was an essential requisite to achieve the stated goals. The information technology team grew by over 400% and included resources in development, business analysis, project management, application configuration, technical support, data analytics and infrastructure. Projects of scale included implementation of the Elle Mae Encompass LOS, Fiserv Loan Servicing Platform (including onboarding multiple manufactured housing servicing portfolios), design, build and deploy an enterprise dimensional data warehouse and Robotic Process Automation (RPA.)

Co-founder of start-up company to design, build and market a disruptive loan origination system focused on mid to large scale mortgage bankers. Activities ranged from system architecture and design, employee recruiting and retention, sales and marketing forecasting and budgeting. Our team created a number of unique technology solutions including Point of Sale, proprietary imaging and a patent pending (US Patent Application Number 13/225,536) solution for integrating third party systems.

ShadowNet Management Technologies was purposed with creating sophisticated business intelligence tools for the mortgage lending industry. First American Financial purchased ShadowNet Mortgage Technologies in 1998. At the time of the acquisition I acted in the role of Executive Vice President and CIO. Subsequently I was promoted to Division President where I oversaw the activities of the document preparation division. • Managed the integration of Nationwide Documents and ShadowNet Mortgage Technologies after the acquisition.• Consolidated common business operations and technologies.• Managed division compliance with Y2K planning for both corporate platforms.

In 1984 I joined a small startup company known as Diversified Mortgage Services. This firm provided training services, temporary personnel placement and automated loan closing document preparation for the mortgage industry. This company eventually evolved into one of the premier technology vendors to the industry. In 1988 along with my partner we grew the document preparation division into a separate company known as ShadowNet Mortgage Technologies. I served that company as an owner, Executive Vice President and CIO. This company created a number of firsts within its industry including automated remote delivery and printing of closing documents, automated package content calculation, Windows based service ordering system and integrated data extraction from enterprise loan production systems.
