I'm a freelance editor with a wide range of skills and interests. I have been in publishing since 1994, and have been freelance full time since April 2000.My first exposure to editing came in 1987, at Ryerson's campus newspaper, The Eyeopener. I began copyediting, proofreading, pasting up pages, designing layouts and typesetting. This experience prompted a change of career path, and I enrolled in the Book and Magazine Publishing program at Centennial College. A six-week end-of-term field placement at Madison Press Books ended up lasting two years. A subsequent short-term contract at Kids Can Press turned into a full-time position for three years.I'm known for versatility, meticulousness and promptness, as well as my good humour and can-do attitude. No job too big or small -- I've worked on everything from hockey encyclopedias to copy for the side panel of a cereal box.Clients include publishers, book packagers and producers, advertising agencies, marketing firms and individuals.Specialties: Combining my vocation with an avocation, I've carved out a niche editing and indexing books about ice hockey. But I'm a generalist, having handled subjects ranging from asparagus to zeppelins.
