I am an entrepreneur and business owner whose company, Cortech Solutions, Inc., developsand supports equipment and software used in basic and applied neuroscience. My academictraining in experimental psychology and neuroscience at University of Texas at El Paso and experienceas a research assistant in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School underpin my 35 year career in R&D,and sales and support of equipment and software for neuroscience. Since 1989, I have scoped,delivered, installed, and provided training and support for thousands of complex research instrumentswith analytical software for diverse clientele in settings including psychology, neuroscience, sportsmedicine, rehabilitation, neural engineering, drug and device trials, consumer neuroscience, aerospace,defense and more. I have been involved both in basic science and entrepreneurial businessdevelopment from formation through exit. Through this experience, I have developed uniqueinsights into the technical and regulatory challenges involved with design and manufacturing ofbiosignal measurement systems and software, as well as marketing and sales of these complexsolutions to scientists working in a wide range of contexts. I have a passion forentrepreneurship and community, as evidenced by my involvement with community organizationsfocused on sustainable economic development in NC and the Wilmington region.
