Since it was founded, EUHT StPOL has always had a very clear idea: the ideal environment for hotel training is the University Hotel-School, a pioneer in Europe. Therefore in 1966 a training program was created that was a pioneer in Europe, formed by a hotel-school with a restaurant in which university hospitality students could do their practice immediately with real customers under the supervision and direct assessment of professional teaching staff.One of our mottos was thus developed: “learning by doing”, probably the one that best sums up the philosophy and concept of hotel-school where nothing is taken for granted until it has been practised as many times as necessary in a real working environment and confirmed by the professional’s criterion. EUHT StPOL was also the first school in Spain to create a program and specific training methodology of theory-practice in hospitality management at a time when training plans in Spain hardly distinguished hospitality in the tourist area.

Founded in 1955, EUHOFA International is the first hotel school association worldwide.It has over 200 hospitality management, tourism and culinary arts schools and universities from the 5 continents.Its participating members are Deans, Principals and Directors, making it a unique network of decisionmakers that represent the best hotelschools in the world.

Founded in 2020, the Culinary Arts Commission is leading the development of the Kingdom’s culinary arts sector. By driving investment and building robust regulatory frameworks, the Commission is supporting the next generation of Saudi chefs and hospitality professionals as they aspire to reach their full potential. The Commission is enabling the sector while preserving the Kingdom’s rich culinary arts heritage and promoting Saudi chefs. Together with the Ministry of Culture, the Commission is working to unlock a thriving cultural sector to preserve and elevate the traditions that make the Kingdom unique. As a member of the Board of Directors, Mr Serra will contribute significant expertise in the field of culinary arts education, supporting the Kingdom as it seeks to bolster its educational offering to both domestic and international students.
