In my role under the Market Systems Development component of Iqlaa Activity with Mercy Corps:As a Market Systems Development Officer at Mercy Corps under the USAID-funded IQLAA, I play a pivotal role in driving economic growth and enhancing market systems in Jordan. My key responsibilities include:- Market Research and Analysis: Conducting in-depth market research and systems analysis in the areas of Access to Finance, Digital Financial Services, and Agriculture, with a specific focus on the Olive Oil Sector.- Partnership Development: Mapping and scoping potential private sector lead partners to foster the growth of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) and Home-Based Businesses (HBBs) in Jordan.- Developing Strategies and Implementation of activities within a set framework and the "big picture" of project goals.Achievements:- Continously identifying and engaging with key stakeholders in the finance and agriculture sectors, with goal to enhanced market opportunities for local enterprises.- Developing comprehensive market analysis reports that informed strategic decisions and project interventions.I am passionate about creating sustainable economic opportunities and leveraging market systems to drive inclusive growth. My work at Mercy Corps allows me to contribute to meaningful development initiatives, particularly in supporting the growth of small enterprises and home-based businesses in Jordan.

As a Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant with GIZ Jordan, I conducted quantitative research to assess the impact and usage of the intervention implemented between the Employment Oriented MSME Promotion Project and the Jordanian ICT Association "INT@J" on the Market Intelligence Function. My key responsibilities included:*Impact Measurement: Designing and executing quantitative research methodologies to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention, including: designing and conducting Surveys through different formats and channels to ensure a high response rate.*Data Analysis: Analyzing data to determine the usage and impact of the market intelligence function on targeted MSMEs.*Reporting: Preparing detailed reports that provided insights and recommendations based on the research findings.This consultancy allowed me to leverage my expertise in monitoring and evaluation to support the enhancement of market intelligence capabilities for MSMEs in Jordan's ICT sector.

Advising on enhancing MSMEs Competencies in Accessing Financial and Non-Financial Services.In which, Continued working on the sustainability of the Finance Guide of Entrepreneurs and forming cooperation with key ecosystem players to ensure that the guide is continuously updated and sustained for the long term.Focal point in representing GIZ Jordan with a regional GIZ team that worked on piloting an initiative to support start-ups in cross-border expansion and learn what hinders their growth to new markets and how to help them in achieving that.Focal point in Jordan with an International GIZ team that worked on supporting SMEs in digital transformation through building an open-source Enterprise Resource Planning "ERP" solution.

Implementation of project monitoring including follow-up with beneficiaries and partners to gatherinformation, numbers, and results; supporting technical advisors in developing monitoring plans for newinterventions; follow-up with colleagues on regular basis for M&E reporting; regularly updating indicatortracker to measure progress; collection and preparation of relevant documents/reports forannual BMZ reporting.Building a database of all information collected by the project, making use of and utilizing all available information in data analysis and analytics to help the project colleagues and management in making data-driven decisions to steer the project.Regularly updating of project’s M&E guide according to the new results matrix after top-up.Holding calls among colleagues from other projects to better understand the process and tools in M&E within their respective projects and researching different tools to be used within projects for M&E to enhance efficiency and efforts.Creation of new tools and templates in English and Arabic for pre-and post-event surveys.

Working with the ecosystem stakeholders on enhancing MSMEs competencies and ability to better access Financial and Non-Financial services in Jordan where I:Worked on the Translation, Digitization and Sustainability of the previously published Finance Guide for Entrepreneurs, where I have worked on Terms of Reference development, consultancy selection (assessment and justification for selection), follow up with the consulting firm on progress and milestones with the managing TA. Also worked on the grant preparation to a local gender-lens investment fund alongside side the component manager where I have: Researched various topics relating to work done in gender lens investing around the world; proposed packages for a support measure; took part in concept brainstorming; supported research, log-frame work and calls with partners to build and frame the intervention; supported finding possible partners for the intervention including research and review ofproposal to see points of convergence for project indicators, sectoral relevance and areas for ensuringsensible integration of proposed work items to refine the proposal with the partner to be in the requiredformat and to be in line with project mandate.As part of a team with Component Manager and M&E Coordinator in an appraisal mission in preparing a change offer for 2.8 mil. Euro project top-up on Women Economic Empowerment for our project in which I worked on recruitment of local consultant (ToR, reading proposals, provide justification); Preparation of appraisal mission (created a stakeholder mapping, shortlisted possible interventions fortop-up, supported the development of mission program, supported mission team to plan and hold consultation meetings with local stakeholders) Finalization of gender analysis and results matrix.▪ Holding & facilitating debriefing workshop for project team about latest developments, updates andchanges on the project after the Appraisal Mission and Change Offer was submitted.

GIZ Jordan through the “Employment-oriented MSME Promotion” project will contribute to inclusive economic growth as envisaged in Jordan’s national vision and strategy “Jordan 2025“. Its aim is to improve growth opportunities for private enterprises in order to boost employment, income and private sector growth. The project designs and implements interventions in three fields of activity and within three selected sectors, namely food manufacturing, tourism and ICT. In field of activity:(1) “Enhancing competitiveness in selected economic sectors,” the project seeks to improve the foundations for competitiveness in the three selected sectors of the Jordanian economy. In field of activity.(2) “Improving the skills of MSME employees and owners in the selected sectors,” the project will aim at improving the expertise of staff at micro, small and medium enterprises in selected areas. Field of activity.(3) “Improving the business and investment climate in the selected sectors” is designed to help improve the conditions for doing business and investing in the selected sectors.Work During Internship:- Supported research and concept development on various topics.- Supporting technical staff with the planning, implementation and monitoring of project activities.- Supporting knowledge management, documentation and communication / PR of project activities.- Track and share summaries of relevant economic and business news articles within the team.- Support in preparing questionnaires and conducting surveys among MSMEs and members of business associations and chambers.
