Provide pre-operative and postoperative pediatric cardiac surgery care• Management of chest tube sites and drainage (Jackson Pratt drains and Pleur-evac Chest drainage systems), including troubleshooting• Collaboration with a diverse interdisciplinary team to manage acutechanges in patients’ conditions• Management of acute or sustained arrhythmias (using rescue meds)• Excellent communication and teamwork during Code blue situations• Post-surgery family discharge teaching• Central line care and management (PICC lines)• Management of Nasogastric tubes and Gastronomy tubes for enteralfeeding (inserting NG tubes, running feeds, troubleshooting)• Sepsis recognition and prompt management of deteriorating patients• Post heart catheterization procedures (arterial site care)• Management of Ventricular Assistive Devices (VAD’s) such as the BerlinHeart, Total Artificial Heart and Heartware devices (dressing changes, continuous Anticoagulation therapy)
