Vp, ProductsElevate Security May 2022 - Jan 2024San Francisco, California, UsElevate Security exited to Mimecast in January 2024.Elevate Security created the category of Workforce Risk Management with the industry’s first platform capable of solving an incredibly difficult, time-honored problem: 8% of users cause 80% of the incidents a security team faces.I joined to rebuild the Product organization and to align offerings directly to the highest-pain problems customers and prospects face. I built an organization with deep skills in product management, design, quality, technical marketing, and distributed systems architecture that is tightly coupled to Engineering delivery. It was also tightly aligned with the foundational processes of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to make the whole of the business successful. Within my first year, three new offerings directly linked to specific buyers were launched, along with deep integrations into control technologies and identity management platforms across the industry to automate risk response and identity threat detection (ITDR). Through those integrations, the Elevate platform launched into multiple vendor marketplaces, becoming the fastest-growing start-up in one such marketplace with multi-million dollar ARR being booked inside a quarter. -
Vp, ProductAttackiq Jul 2020 - May 2022Los Altos, California, UsJoined to formalize the Product function, unblock new offer creation and expand differentiation. Crafted product strategy that not only expanded differentiation but built pathways to expand addressable market through solving adjacent use cases in network security, compliance and cyber threat intelligence (CTI), critical in support of the Series C fundraise. Created an adversary reseach function from the ground-up, becoming a cornerstone of new platform deliveries aligned directly with emerging threat actor behaviors. This was all supported through the creation of a Program Management function and processes to ensure predictable delivery at high initial quality levels. -
Vice President, ProductsVerodin, A Part Of Fireeye Nov 2017 - Mar 2020Verodin exited to FireEye in May 2019. Joined as the first Product hire while sub-$1M in ARR; tasked with building for significant growth to all product and engineering functions. As the executive for Product, Engineering and Threat Research, in addition to G&A responsibilities, I built the teams and processes that produced new capabilities of significantly increasing complexity at high initial quality levels across every aspect of the platform. Created the analyst relations function at a crucial time, directly influencing the perspectives that formed the critical capabilities for the new Breach and Attack Simulation (BAS) market. Supported fundraising activities for the Series B round. Played a key role in the creation of storytelling that supported >100% YoY sales growth through technical enablement, large opportunity qualification, and timed vertical market entry.

Director, Product ManagementCisco 2013 - Nov 2017San Jose, Ca, UsJoined to operate the Security-as-a-Service businesses when cloud-delivered security controls were in their infancy. Re-created Product organization, executing long-delayed multi-national acquisition integration activities while rebooting roadmap and realigning resources to customer desired outcomes. Re-positioned the principal web security offering through a tight partnership with Marketing, bringing additional incentives to multiple routes to market - kickstarting growth into double-digits %. Developed concepts for SASE offerings well before the category existed based on extensive customer research and pursued M&A strategy, both with investment and subsequent acquisition of OpenDNS for $635M to bring the right technical and GTM capabilities in-house to execute.I was then tapped to operate the Network Security franchise - to stop market share declines and address competitive threats against the legacy offerings from a multitude of dimensions. Embarked on extensive up-skilling of a large, existing product organization and forged a crucial partnership with overlay sales in advance of the then-largest launches in Cisco Security history, bringing next-generation firewalls (NGFW) to market across all segments. Developed and funded take-out programs for key competitors, turning this into a repeatable motion that returned the franchise to double-digit growth. Partnered closely with Analyst Relations to develop and execute a specific campaign to shift Cisco’s position - resulting in a promotion to being a Leader in the Gartner NGFW MQ. -
