In this role, I will be responsible for efforts to attract, recruit, and enroll students from diverse cultural backgrounds, as well as serving as the DEI liaison in admissions to advance Whitworth's strategic enrollment goals. I will leverage my Spanish-speaking skills as a native speaker to support families in the admissions and financial aid process. Additionally, I will oversee the planning and implementation of Whitworth's annual Multicultural Visit Program (MVP) and collaborate with the Office of Student Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion on their leadership program, Multicultural Leadership Program.

Provide trauma-informed, person-centered counseling/case management to youth, teens and families enrolled in the WISe program at home and/or in the community. I also develop and implement strengths-based treatment plans, coordinate and assist the client in obtaining services, provide client education and conduct risk assessments while measuring client progress towards established goals and objectives. I also provide crisis support via WISe After Hours Crisis Line on a quarterly basis.

Provide direct client care in 1:1 setting to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum and related disorders based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Implement ABA techniques such as DTT and PRT to increase language and communication, appropriate and cooperative play skills, and self-help skills by creating a fun and positive environment through play. Collect and graph data as well as detailed notes on each child’s progress and difficulties during each session. Maintain client confidentiality under HIPA Regulations

Shadowed Certified Child Life Specialists from two different units – Surgery and Inpatient . Observed interactions between patients/families and child life specialists.
