Internship in a proyect about whey treatment.In the first part of the internship, I was in a team that synthesized (developing a method and building the equipment), and characterized chitosan from crustacean cells. The procedure was a success and the chitosan obtained was comparable to the commercial chitosan. The purpose of it was to immobilize an enzym (lactase) in the chitosan in a following phase of the project.During the second part of the internship the team succesfully designed and created an hydraulic system controlled by a PLC. The purpose of this was to design and create the necessary equipment for a packed bed reactor, filled with chitosan containing lactase.
