IS Trainer and CRM Adviser for the NFU. I design and deliver training to cover the core systems and applications used within the NFU, including all Microsoft Office applications and our own CRM system. This role covers all staff at our HQ office as well as at eight Regional Offices across England and Wales. I also carry out all IT induction training for new members of staff, including mobile and telecom training. I work with the systems administration team and monitor the helpdesk to identify areas of training that would benefit the organisation and often produce supporting documentation to assist staff in the use of NFU systems and software.

In this role I provided a range of secretarial, administrative and support services to the Compliance and Secretariat Departments ensuring the smooth administration and operation of the NFU’s Council, Governance Board and Audit Committee, as well as the NFU Pension Scheme Trustee Committee. This included arranging venues and facilities and creating and distributing agendas and papers. I was also part of the team that delivered the NFU Annual Conference and AGM, which caters for around 1300 delegates. I have liaised with important sponsors and speakers, sorting all of their arrangements, itineraries and travel arrangements. I was also involved with the design and content of some of the Conference marketing and publications. Last year I also played a key role in designing and moving the Conference administration over to a new bespoke CRM database system. The system is used to register delegates as well as produce key reports. I also organised the exhibition side of the Conference, from liaising with the venue to create floor plans, to coordinating build up and break down, ensuring exhibitors have all the information they need.

Progressing during my time at the RASE from Assistant Secretary to Personal Assistant (at a Director/CEO level), I was tasked with responsibilities such as arranging meetings, including booking venues and catering, taking meeting minutes as well as preparing agendas and papers for delegates. I have also dealt with international meetings, having to arrange travel for multiple Directors overseas as well as their accommodation. I also spent time organising the President’s Lunches for the Royal Show and dealt with many high profile visitors. I was also often called upon to man the Organisers’ Office as well as Show Control due to my efficient, calm approach.

I conducted five consecutive appointments a day with clients of all different ages and from all different backgrounds. DORE has given me invaluable experience in time management and face to face interaction with clients. I learnt to create and uphold rapport with challenging individuals, and also master a lot of bespoke software and equipment in order to get the best results from the clients.

This was a temporary seven month contract, working in the Livestock office for the Royal Show. I was responsible for inputting entries into a bespoke database system, answering phones and exhibitor queries, looking after trophies and prize money, proof checking the Royal Show catalogue and general administration relating to livestock at the Royal Show.
