I worked full-time alongside career teachers as an instructor in the Footebridge Summer Enrichment Program for students from New Haven Public Schools. The program provided literacy instruction and social/emotional learning opportunities for 28 first and second grade students. I customized instruction for a range of skill levels and learning styles with lesson plans involving music, theater, and multi-media projects. I contributed to student gains in reading fluency, comprehension, and writing as confirmed by pre- and post-program testing.

As a part-time intern in the Publications Division, I increased accessibility for Ohio’s Hispanic community by translating office resources and publications into Spanish.
