As a custom knifemaker, EDC modder, and fabricator, I specialize in working with premium cutlery steels as well as other specialty and composite materials including Timascus, copper-niobium superconductor, G10, carbon fiber, hybrid wood, and Kydex.While the custom knife market has grown exponentially in the past several years, there is still very little knowledge in the general public that pertains to knives, specifically the materials and time that go into them as well as how critical a quality knife can be to a user.There is no substitute for a quality blade, whether it be cutting lids off boxes, dicing some peppers and onions, dressing game that will feed your family through the winter, or cutting a crash victim loose from a seatbelt.Currently I am building kitchen knives and fixed utility knives out of top-tier powdered alloys (20CV, 3V, 4V), all with customization to the scales and surface finishes. I am about to finish up the design process on my first hybrid knife, the Shrike Hybrid, which is a combination of a paring knife originally designed for culinary use, and a fixed fighter that is geared toward self-defense and combat use. I also have a mini cleaver in the prototyping phase, which will probably be produced in very small runs.Books for custom builds are closed until further notice. However, I do offering edge sharpening on a willy-nilly basis.
