We are a Community Interest Company, delivering Arts and Media courses to groups age 19+.Creating courses both digital, and traditional crafts, to adult learners not in employment or training.Also producing commercial Illustration and Graphic Design for B2B Clients.In August 2014 we had our first exhibition of learners work, SHINE! (see links)The end of 2014 brought OFSTED to our sessions, giving us a Grade 1 Outstanding!In February 2015 we have been Highly Commended in the Innovation Category of the One Awards

I am confident working with the Adobe Suite of software, and currently run CS5 at home, namely, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as Corel Draw which I have used for digital painting. The traditional methods I enjoy are inks, pastels, pencils and watercolours. For a recent project I have also mastered the art of Copperplate Calligraphy, using a dip pen.My work has been exhibited in Sunderland City Space, London New Designers Exhibition and also, upon success in competition, in New York for the ‘Art of Rebellion’ Exhibition< http://www.gowanusprintlab.com/the-art-of-rebellion.html>.I have also self-published one of my Graphic Novels which I both wrote and illustrated, it was chosen as book of the week, on Blurb< http://blog.blurb.com/book-of-the-week-facebook/>I have completed work on a freelance level for individuals, producing leaflets, posters and stationery, as well as producing illustrations for a Christmas card.On an individual basis I have also produced murals in schools, and bed/playrooms

In 1997 I was married and the next year we started a family with a daughter, and I was lucky enough to be able to be a stay at home mum. 2000 brought along a second child - a son, whom I was also able to be with and nurture during his early formative years. This experience has been invaluable, and although it has taken me outside of industry for a number of years, and perhaps my skills have perhaps become outdated, the benefits to my children are immense.

Moved here from John Barry and was the operator of new for the time - Linotype CRTronic 320!After a couple of years the company installed the brand new revolutionary Apple Macintosh Computers! Here I jumped in with both feet, and became more involved with the design process. Our customers were local and national, Brewing and Hoteliers, along with international engineering firms.

Typeset Copy on an old Linotype machine, one of those with the changeable lenses, and the typefaces on film strips - Fabulous!
