• Collaborate and develop with the Director in providing vision, leadership, and management for the Martin Luther King Jr. Program(MLK) and CLA President's Emerging Scholars (CLA PES) Programs• Deliver leadership, vision, and strategic thinking for CLA Student Services and collegiate advising efforts in collaboration with the unit’s Assistant Directors• Serve as advisor to a subset of CLA PES students enrolled in CLA including BFA students in Music, Dance, and Theater• Manage daily operations and projects in CLA PES and MLK to optimize adviser availability and service to students• Supervision for a team of seven full-time advisers, three support staff, and peer advisers in MLK and CLA PES• Coordinate probation review and degree clearance processes, ongoing adviser professional growth and development, staff hiring, training, performance review, and promotion processes• Serve as instructor for CLA PES-student specific semester course CLA 1005 and teaching assistant for CLA 2005• Develop student programming (Resume reviews sessions and Learning Abroad Center Sessions) for students in MLK and CLA PES• Engage in University/Collegiate committees to develop relationships with other units and to further student development and university initiatives• Support staff with on-going training through individual check-ins, bi-annual retreats, and envisioning a new mission• Develop on-going relationships with campus stakeholders and foster new partnerships across campus to develop programs and support for MLK and CLA PES students

• Develop, deliver, and assess curriculum for CLA 1005 a first year experience course in PES; develop CLA 1001 MLK-First year experience modules as well as write curriculum for CLA 1002 Social Justice theme• Supervise and coach a team of nine advisors, two support staff, undergraduate peer advisors, and graduate teaching assistants to implement high-impact programming (e.g. first year experience, social justice counseling advising models, student support programming) in support of the MLK and PES student communities• Serve on the Associate Dean’s Leadership Team, contributing to strategic thinking about all aspects of student services, including advising, career services, scholarships, recruiting, curricular innovations, student affairs, information and data systems, communication, and outreach• Collaborate with the Office of Admissions, CLA’s recruitment team, and MLK staff in CLA to increase the admission of students of color through recruitment initiatives, pipeline partnership strategies with transfer students, and other outreach methods• Developed planning scholarship initiatives with the Learning Abroad Center for PES Students for semester long study abroad• Supported the development of the U of M Passport Factory Event which gifted free passports to MLK and PES students who demonstrated financial need and had never owned a passport• Co-Led the development of an 1 week MLK Immersion experience for 30 students to learn about Organizing for Social Change in Communities of Color, which involved a collaborative project between MLK, HECUA and 9 twin cities non-profits• Assist in strategic budget decisions and manage the budget for MLK and PES Programs• Founded and advise a CLA Campus Life group for Multicultural and First Generation College Students seeking to develop a greater sense of belonging and professional development initiatives

Access to Success Program in the College of Liberal Arts- Advise over 200 undergraduate students on degree planning, registration, educational planning, engagement opportunities, and University resources in order to successful acclimate students to the College of Liberal Arts and the University at-large- Communicate with students on a regular basis through multiple individual appointment per semester discussing educational and career goals and e-mailing regular engagement opportunities through a strengths-based approach- Teach a introductory course discussion section for ATS students each academic semester; CLA 1005 focuses on academic and life skills and cultural diversity in higher education and CLA 2005 focuses on concepts of citizenship in public life, service-learning, and critical social issues facing the United States and the world- Collaborate with teaching team for CLA 1005 and CLA 2005 courses to review and make suggestions on curriculum, grading, teaching approaches, and developing an inclusive classroom to meet the multiple learning needs of first year students- Engage in University/Collegiate committees to develop relationships with other units and to further student development and university initiatives- Represent ATS program at recruiting and outreach functions in order to inform prospective students and families about ATS resources, curriculum, and services- Present and advise students during orientation sessions to develop a clear understanding of the ATS program and structure- Encourage students personal and career development by communicating upcoming internships, study abroad, volunteer, and other engagement opportunities resources through the University- Develop career modules for first year students in SEAM Learning communities to introduce over 100 first year students to major and interest exploration

- Manage the walk-in career center programming and scheduling of events- Facilitate and coordinate outreach to classrooms and large groups- Provide one-to-one assistance to student exploring majors, preparing for transfer and making career choices. As well as connect students with early engagement opportunities- Mentor and supervise undergraduate assistants

- Provided direct service for students in the ETC Services walk-in center helping students find information regarding career planning, applying for CEHD majors, resume review, and transfer and educational planning- Developed and presented ETC workshops on topic such as experiential learning and how to conduct an internship search- Assisted in presenting at CEHD transfer orientations to provide an overview of resources and services available through the ETC for new students- Planned and implemented orientation information for parents of incoming first-year CEHD students used on Day 2 of University of Minnesota orientation

-Created and presented weekly General College informational sessions for prospective students-Recruited students for General College at the National College Fair and U of M Campus Preview Days-Recruited students at the Minnesota Association of Counselors of Color (MnACC) Educational Fairs held at various Twin Cities area high schools-Organized a database, filed and followed- up for the Minnesota Association of Counselors of Color scholarship applicants and recipients for high school seniors that are students of color
