Ems Coordinator
CurrentCoordinate EMS activities and training for a combination fire-based EMS service with over 200 full-time providers that responds to over 17,000 calls for service annually, to include:- Serve as subject matter expert on EMS to executive staff.- Provide strategic direction and oversight of EMS training programs.- Serve as the CoAEMSP designated lead instructor for an in-house paramedic program taught in cooperation and under the accreditation of VCU Health System. - Serve as the program director for Virginia Office of EMS accredited EMT program.- Coordinate and supervise the departments quality management program, to include writing of policy, designating key performance indicators (KPIs), coordinating peer review committee, conducting reviews and investigations, and provide strategic direction.- Manage the department's ALS Field Training Program.- Manage the department's RSI program.- Serve as the department's liaison to hospitals and other EMS agencies.- Coordinate with the department's EMS Physician to ensure department is providing evidence-based care, to include managing and rewriting the department's Patient Care Guidelines in 2024.- Teach courses (EMT, paramedic, ACLS, PALS, continuing education) as required.- Supervise both uniformed (Senior Firefighter/Paramedic, Firefighter/EMT) and non-uniformed (EMS Instructor) employees. Coordinate and supervise all (>20) part-time EMS instructors.- Serve as a field provider, cleared as a RSI Paramedic and Field Training Officer as required.- Serve as a member of the department's incident management team and provide EOC staffing as necessary.
