As Vice President of Operations, I continue to lead cross departmental initiatives at a larger scale. I lead integration, implementation, and training for organization wide systems, including: software, technology operating systems, security systems, timekeeping platforms, and databases. I develop administrative policies and procedures related to HR, facility management, risk management, and staff support. Additionally, I manage facilities needs, notably project-managing a $50,000+ multi-phase construction project in 2022. I continue to supervise our Finance Manager, assisting with documenting and tracking the organization's strategic use of grants. I use all of the skills attained in my previous roles at the organization and continue to add more in service of our mission.

In the newly-created Support Services team, I supervised our Marketing Coordinator and Finance Manager. Our group provided various foundational assistance to interconnected parts of the organization. I began to lead hiring operations including creating job descriptions, job posts, interviews, onboarding amid existing HR responsibilities. I improved processes via creation of training materials, videos, and guides for staff, volunteers, and AmeriCorps service members. I wrote grant applications and grant reports, and assisted with editing development and marketing materials.

I wrote and edited development materials including newsletters, appeal letters, blog posts, printed materials, webpages, press releases and grant reports. During this time, I project managed writing and submission of grant applications and grant reports, coordinated efforts between staff and an external grant writer. I also began supervising our organization's Finance Manager.

I learned how to use and customize a Salesforce database to better meet data tracking needs. I managed technology inventory, device updates, and created a device checkout system. I supported the organization's onboarding, payroll, and PTO processes, working in concert with a Professional Employer Organization.

In this role, I supported Indy Reads, an adult literacy organization, with administrative tasks and data entry management. I also wrote correspondence on behalf of the organization and served as the first point of contact for prospective students.

I am a freelance writer, poet, and editor passionate about words—what they do, what they say about us, and how they make a difference in the world. In 2019, I started LMJ Writing LLC to help me make better use of the skills and talents I've gained. It's been an honor of mine to facilitate book discussions and teach community poetry workshops in partnership with organizations like the Indiana Writers Center, Indiana Humanities, and the Indianapolis Public Library. I volunteer as an assistant editor for The Indianapolis Review, an online quarterly journal of poetry and art. I've also served as a judge for various youth-based writing contests in Indiana.

Utilized specialized equipment to fold, bind, copy and print pamphlets, booklets and documents for student and university use.
