I change lives. As a leader and a mentor, I help to establish connections, cultivate networks and opportunities to inspire people to develop their path to learn, grow and succeed in their career. I've been an IT leader for 15+ years with a demonstrated history in highly regulated, compliance driven insurance, healthcare and banking/financial services industries. My experience includes Management, Technical Project Delivery, Digital Accessibility, Health Care, Corporate, Finance, Banking, Legal and HR/Payroll Systems. As a result I’ve been able to achieve the following:Defined a digital accessibility strategic plan which enabled the assessment of over 400+ internal and external facing websites for compliance with WCAG 2.1.Established a production support team who exceeded many of the organization’s defined SLO metrics in 2019 such as ticket resolution and defect reduction.Successfully implemented Agile methodology for 10+ applications.Established a team culture that, in one year, increased our employee engagement score 87% higher than the Gallup average. Mentoring is my passion and so is digital accessibility. These were unknown passions that converged and came to light as a result of my work helping my mentees obtain employment and live their best life. As a mentor with Disability:In and the Careers2B program, which provides professional work experience for people with disabilities, I realized the challenges people with disabilities have securing gainful employment, from applying for a job on a website that isn’t accessible, to engaging with co-workers or a boss. As a result, I have become a digital accessibility evangelist to implement change so that digital content is accessible to people with disabilities, written Blog posts for Bender Consulting on how to be an engaged mentee and the qualities of a good mentor, spoken at the Blue Cross Blue Shield National Summit on employing people with disabilities, and established a mentorship for the Careers2B program.
