I am looking to pursue a career that allows me to be involved in and/or educate others on STEM topics, mainly science and technology. I believe I would be a good fit for a variety of educational programs and settings with the years of experience I have working with and teaching children combined with my passion for STEM education. Currently, I hold a New Jersey Standard Teaching license for K-6, Science 5-8 and Math 5-8. For 14 years I have worked with children of all ages in a variety of settings, including formal science, math, and technology classrooms, informal engineering workshops, after school programs, tutoring sessions, and summer camps. Since finding my specific interest in teaching in college, I have also had a special interest in making the STEM fields less intimidating to children. I find that young children have a natural curiosity towards science, but as they get older they drift away from the things that used to interest them. It is my goal as an educator to reconnect children with the STEM fields by guiding them to explore what intrigues them the most while they learn valuable skills in the process.
