I completed my thesis based master's degree in Earth Sciences at the University of Ottawa. My project was under the co-supervision of Dr. Ian Clark (UOttawa) and Dr. Uli Mayer (UBC). My project involved the characterization of CO2 efflux from the the ground surface affiliated with in situ natural degradation of hydrocarbon contaminants using radiocarbon isotopic signatures. My field work led to the development of a novel technique for sample collection by precipitating compact mineralogical samples from soil CO2. These mineralogical samples helped to reduce costs and ease logistics associated with the transportation of samples from remote locations for analysis via accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS). My thesis work has been presented at 3 international conferences and the method we developed has now been used around the world to characterize site specific NSZD rates.

Assistant to university faculty in development and instruction of geology and geography courses. Duties also include building, maintaining and organizing departmental collections; assisting in the preparation and execution of laboratory exercises; assisting in the operation and organization of field trips and field schools; operating X-ray Diffraction (XRD) equipment; providing guidance and technical expertise to faculty and students; using a range of computers, software programs and hardware components to facilitate teaching activities; assisting in the organization and general operation of the department.

Project involved the identification and characterization of abandoned channel fill deposits within McMurray Formation to build a comprehensive database accessible to the oil sands subsurface team. Use of and formal training in Petrel 2014, extensive core data, interpretation and application of FMI data. Term project led to co-author contribution for 2016 AAPG ACE Core Convention.

Project involved the creation of a stratigraphic framework in an offshore environment, constrained by seismic, well and biostratigraphic data. Use of Petrel 2013 for 2D seismic and well interpretation. Project success involved extensive collaborative teamwork on Flemish Pass land sale block before acquisition in winter 2014 by Imperial in joint venture with Suncor and ConocoPhillips.
