Process Engineer - Fiber Specialist
CurrentProduction Process Engineer with expertise in the manufacturing of underbody systems from non-woven PET fibers (fully recyclable) for noise isolation in the automotive industry. Proficient in managing the entire production process: material crystallization/drying, fibers extrusion/cooling/stretching/needling, and end-products Thermo Hot Molding/cutting/assembly.Bringing sustainability and minimizing environmental impact through the utilization of PET bottle flakes and in-house recycled rPET.1. Process Optimization• Identify and optimize process parameters to improve efficiency, productivity, quality and reduce cycle times, scrap and production costs.• Recognize process inefficiencies and areas for improvement through data analysis and performance metrics.• Ensure process stability through the development and implementation of best practices and control measures.2. Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Troubleshooting• Lead daily Continuous Improvement meetings as a moderator.• Utilize lean manufacturing tools like 5S, Value-stream Mapping, Kaizen, Muda, Gemba, A3 (Ishikawa, 5 Whys…).• Drive the transition to digital platforms to facilitate and monitor CI efforts.• Conduct process FMEA in both development and production phases.3. Quality Assurance, Documentation and Training• Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and training materials.• Train production personnel on quality standards, best practices, and process changes.4. Material Exploration and Industrialization• Collaborate with suppliers and R&D to evaluate new materials and technologies to enhance product performance and reduce costs.• Lead industrialization efforts for new products, including program creation, initial trials, optimization, and start of production.• Conduct Run@Rate assessments to ensure smooth and efficient production ramp-up.
