The Veterans Places, Pathways & People Programme has recently been launched by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust to develop better, more joined up and lasting support for local veterans with mental health needs and will be delivered on a regional model, with the North West incorporating Cheshire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and South Cumbria. The role of Head of Programme Delivery is a secondment to the NW Portfolio Lead Broughton House, who were successful in the bid in partnership with Armed Forces Community HQ, and will oversee the creation of the North West Armed Forces Wellbeing Network (NWAFWN).The Network will host a variety of subgroups on key themes aligned to the aims of the programme, and a portfolio of projects to ensure veterans have access to safer places, efficient pathways and people that are effectively trained and connected in their efforts. This programme will produce a legacy of improved ways of working, better collaboration across sectors, and a bank of toolkits, training and development packages to enhance our services.

It starts with one. One Million Mentors is an exciting and ambitious programme to looking to connect organisations with young people in a long term, impactful and meaningful way. The aim is to recruit, train and deploy a million mentors to a million young people over the next ten years.As Regional Manager for Greater Manchester, I was tasked with supporting the growth of the project in Manchester and the wider region. This included working with over 30 youth partners, 20 employer organisations and connecting over 1,000 young people with mentors to create a lasting impact on their future life chances.

Oxjam Regional Coordinator for North West and Yorkshire, overseeing the volunteer efforts for Oxjam, the annual music festival held across the country raising money for Oxfam. As Regional Coordinator, I provide support for volunteers across the region, from event planning to fundraising, liaising with the central team in Oxford.

Building on my experience as a Production Coordinator for Oxjam Manchester in 2013, I will now lead the project to raise money for Oxfam through the organisation of a multi-venue two-day festival in Manchester. Over the last two years we have raised over £11,000 and featured over 200 artists performing as part of the campaign for 'local music, global change'.

As part of a fantastic team in Manchester, we managed to smash all records in the North West and raise the highest amount ever! Oxjam Manchester raised £6,527 as part of the music festival fundraising for Oxfam. As Production Coordinator, I was responsible for booking performances, stage management, sourcing venues and sponsors, and managing a team of volunteers. In addition, I also assisted with website creation and maintenance using the Nation Builder platform, and managed social media and press campaigns.My personal project was creating the Oxjam Manchester Album with the assistance of local independent record label, Scruff of the Neck Records. The album reflected the spirit and taste of the festival, and is available to download from oxjammanchester.bandcamp.com
