Our company is devoted to discovering and developing small-molecule therapeutics for novel drug targets. We currently have a first-in-class, orally bioavailable, antibiotic-alternative in Phase 1 clinical trials, for the treatment and prevention of urinary tract infections. In our approach to drug development, we combine synthetic medicinal chemistry strategies and structure guided drug design, with experimental biological assay data, to optimize the potency, PK/PD, and overall drug-like properties of our novel biopharmaceutical analogs. My role is to oversee the synthetic chemistry team, and to provide guidance, leadership and expertise in the design of new analogs, to achieve company project goals.
