Successfully managed a $195 million increase in grant funds over two years.• Developed a process to competitively select & award 180 grants, ahead of schedule, from a one-time $89 million appropriation. • Provided leadership to team of up to 19 & formulated strategies and policies to ensure the smooth operation of the AmeriCorps grant program• Maintained productive relationships with over 100 grantees & partners through regular communication & support. • Monitored progress of more than 250 grants, identified challenges and best practices, and developed technical assistance resources.

• Started out as program officer responsible for a portfolio of grantees, then promoted to senior program officer.• Developed and maintained collaborative relationships with nonprofits, institutions of higher education and Indian Tribes that received AmeriCorps grants. • Managed the selection of grantees, determined and responded to training and technical assistance needs, and ensured adherence to federal grant requirements.

• Managed service programs at 15 sites in Africa, Latin America & the Caribbean & coordinated 50 teams of volunteers per year. • Developed new programs in Puerto Rico & the U.S. Virgin Islands; evaluated existing programs making improvements as needed; maintained relationships with community-based host organizations. • Managed team leaders & country managers, & planned and conducted training sessions. Led teams of volunteers to Costa Rica, Vietnam, Puerto Rico & Ghana.
