I am a licensed Trauma Specialized Mental Health Clinician, Master Trainer, and hold over 18 years of working in the fields of Youth Justice, Corrections, Professional & Leadership Development and Private Practice; for the past 3 years as an entrepreneur. Throughout my career, I have provided community-based services, facilitated Restorative Practices and Evidence-Based Programs to youth, women, and families in both juvenile and adult correctional settings. Regarding Professional Development, I hold experience in curriculum development and the facilitation of various trainings; overseeing the coordination of staff training, including the statewide First Line Supervisors Program, the agency’s implementation of racial equity and reform strategies to advance desired outcomes for youth and families of color, and most recently the program implementation of Dialectal Behavior Health Therapy for the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services. I hold experience in program development in the non-profit, government, and clinical sectors.Clinically, in addition to working as a Certified Institutional Rehabilitation Counselor in high security prison for women, I hold clinical experience serving as a Youth Care Coordinator and Counselor throughout the Prince George’s County area, working with youth, women, and families with Social and Emotional Learning needs. I have also served in the capacity of a Rehabilitation Specialist, conducting assessments and developing treatment plans for adults with severe mental illness and criminal convictions, who transition from psychiatric residential back into the community for care. I hold extensive investigation skills in obtaining necessary information to accurately, and efficiently perform research and complete extensive and informative reports. I hold case management experience (over 8 years) and experience in handling highly sensitive and confidential customer information, providing courtroom testimony, completing court ordered documentation, clinical reports and customer service in the justice and clinical fields. Further, I hold experience working in a high demand professional environments, facilitating cognitive behavioral programming training Restorative Practices and Trauma Informed Interventions to Community support and criminal justice staff to enhanced case management practices. I hold a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology, from the University of Virginia, and a Master’s of Science Degree in Rehabilitation & Mental Health Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University.
