Most Software Engineer are eager to emphasize their coding abilities when describing themselves professionally but I believe critical thinking and problem solving come first. Many of the challenges we face as Engineers can often have simple and effective solutions when studied and dissected properly. Having found success at every role I've found myself working, I can say that this trait has been the main factor as to why I excel at what I do.And what is it that I do? Glad you asked!Currently a Senior Solution Specialist at Deloitte, I am part of the Robotics Process Automation team. Here, while automating processes is the end goal, our real value comes from being able to identify which processes would benefit the most from automation. This is a data driven process that varies greatly from client to client, so being able to adjust to their needs and think outside the box is key to help them achieve their goals. Interacting with the clients to understand their processes and being able to explain how our solutions will help them achieve their goals has been one of the best experiences I've had here at Deloitte.Getting to work with different industries while performing many roles has given me a new perspective as to what I want to do professionally moving forward. These are: - Work within an industry I care deeply for. - Perform at a role that allows me to work closer with the business side, where I get to use my tech skill to enable them to make informed and accurate decisions.As for roles, I am interested in something close to a Business Analyst. My career has allowed me to develop the ability to digest large dataset and understand business logic with relative ease. A core believe of mine with regards to being a great developer is that you have to understand a problem at it's core to come up with the best solution for it. This meant working closely with business partners and getting my hands on any data available to fully understand the problem at hand and come up with the best solution possible.Excited for what the future holds.
