Through a $5 million grant from the US Department of Labor, the GRIT Program provided training for high-growth, high-demand information technology occupations for unemployed veterans, minorities, women and others. The program included an on-the-job training segment that provided wage reimbursements to employers to help defray the cost associated with upgrading information technology skills or training new hires in the fields of computer programming and network systems administration.

IT-oLogy is a national non-profit collaboration of businesses, academic institutions and organizations dedicated to growing the IT talent pipeline, fostering economic development and advancing the IT profession.I represented IT-oLogy, a partner in the Growing Resources for Information Technology (GRIT) Training Program at Midlands Technical College (MTC), and was responsible for recruiting, interviewing and assessing eligible GRIT candidates. Serving as Job Readiness Coach to program participants, I assisted local employers with their hiring needs and coordinated the on-the-job training (OJT) segment of the GRIT program. The OJT segment provided wage reimbursements to employers to help defray the cost associated with upgrading information technology skills or training new hires in the fields of computer programming and network systems administration.
