I am leading the delivery of the integrated strategy to plan a modern port to meet Perth and surrounding region’s future growth for the next 50–100 years. It will guide the planning, development and growth of the Port of Fremantle at the Inner and Outer Harbour, the required rail and road networks, and the opportunities for the Port of Bunbury to handle trade expansion. We will provide land-use and transport plans that support port operations, compatible land uses, port users, community needs and economic growth, and assess the commercial implications and logistics opportunities of future port infrastructure.We will also identify expansion of industrial areas and technology parks to support economic development and future employment opportunities and maximise compatibility of port and landside development with the environment.

I am the Chair of the Board and along with the CEO and other board members am responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organisation, monitoring the budget and understanding market opportunities for future expansion and development. I have a particular focus on innovation and the use of data to provide a powerful tool for the infrastructure and property industry.

Leadership WA is a not for profit organisation that provides leadership development opportunities to leaders from the corporate, not for profit and government sectors. I provide guidance about leadership development opportunities in regional WA and am a member of the business development sub-committee.

Infrastructure Australia advises governments, investors and infrastructure owners on a wide range of issues including current and future infrastructure needs, mechanisms for financing infrastructure investments, and policy, pricing and regulation of national infrastructure networks. We have developed the National Infrastructure Plan and Audit and deliver ongoing policy pieces on recommendations from the plan in addition to assessing business cases for the infrastructure priority list. I chair the Audit and Risk sub-committee.

I am a board member of the Internet of Things Alliance Australia with the task of growing the capability and implementation of the Internet of Things in Australia. This will be achieved by leveraging the expertise across Europe, UK and the United States and working with government and business in Australia to unlock the potential of the technology to improve their operations.

I led the agribusiness team in WA and work actively with the Department of Agriculture and Food to build capability in the sector and the Local and Regional Development portfolio working with local governments and regional development commissions and was an active member of the Infrastructure team.

Advise government on infrastructure projects

The Planning Commission is responsible for strategic planning across the State and recommends all statutory planning matters to the Minister for Planning. Membership comprises relevant Director Generals of Government Departments as well as a series of individuals with specialist skills. As the regional nominee of the Commission I provided advice and insight on matters relevant to regional WA and bring a regional development focus to the table.

The Shire of Roebourne comprises six towns and has an annual budget of over $150 million and nearly 300 employees. My role as President was to lead the Council which involved managing the Shire’s political and media interactions. As one of the fastest growing local government areas in the country a key focus was to redefine the organisation to key stakeholders including the community, government and industry, as well as positioning the Shire for the enormous growth ahead. That involved defining and driving the Karratha - City of the North Plan and building relationships with State and Federal Government and industry. It also involved working closely with the CEO to ensure the organisation had the capability to deliver the vision. The projects developed during that time have now been delivered and are being enjoyed by the community.

As Chairman of the Commission, in partnership with the Pilbara Cities Office I drove driving the Pilbara Cities Vision, as well as developing a Regional Investment Framework to guide the Region’s growth. I was also responsible for positioning the organisation for the merger with the Pilbara Cities Office and working with the Development Commission CEO to lift the capability of the organisation and Board.

The Board is the governing body of Horizon Power and is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organisation and considers matters relating to business and regional development. As a member of the Board I assisted in approving major expenditure and providing advice to the Minister on regional power issues. I also was a member of the Audit and Risk Committee during my tenure.

At times I was the only solicitor in the organisation, so the role required the ability to communicate with clients from all backgrounds, identify their legal issues and assist them to a satisfactory resolution. I provided advice in the areas of family law, criminal law, workplace relations, wills, and child welfare.

Whilst working for the Director I liaised with Ministers' offices and Parliamentary Counsel in drafting new legislation and represented the DPP on interdepartmental committees.As a State Prosecutor I further developed my advocacy skills and refined my legal procedural knowledge. I acquired an ability to think quickly on my feet and respond effectively to legal argument.
