My dad once quietly observed me while walking back home from elementary school:▵ ten steps forward▷ two to the right▽ three backwards◁ five to the left… and so on.Back home he asked me why on earth I walked twice the distance. “I was on an adventure looking for treasure”, I explained. In a way, I’m still doing that. Yes, I’m a business engineer, programmer, designer, entrepreneur, teacher, and marketeer, but above all I’m an adventurer, looking for treasure. And what I’ve learned over the years is that treasures can be found in dirt, in data and in people. I’ve looked for treasure in all three, but professionally I stick to data and people. Piles of data can conceal treasures, smart analysis and clear visualizations will reveal a lot, but it takes a thorough understanding of the business to discover the real treasures. In people the best treasures are the transformations you can actually see; see someone “get it”, and see someone exceed their own expectations. Pure gold. For lovers of lists, this is what I also know about me:❖ I’m fascinated by technology, I just need to know how stuff works.❖ I’m a visual thinker and visual communicator. I will draw pictures.❖ I work in bursts of productivity.❖ I’m a quick and eager learner.❖ I will always look for the “why”. Always.❖ I’m the one that connects the dots … even dots you didn’t know existed.❖ I’m a Fire Dragon, and Aries … yet I’m the calm one.❖ When I see someone exceed their own expectations, it brings tears to my eyes. Literally.❖ I love the solitude of running - just me and my thoughts. That’s also why I don’t compete in events.❖ I share my birthday with the Eiffel Tower❖ I’m one day older than AppleI'm always up to make new connections. Let's meet over coffee.Adventure, anyone?
