A little about me:I'm a new media storyteller (freelance/ digital journalist and content specialist) based in north-central Arizona near Sedona. I'm certified in freelance writing, media studies and graphic design. Below are descriptions of what I do.Journalism: After spending nearly a decade exploring America's public lands and living and working in two of the most popular national parks (Grand Canyon & Yellowstone), I developed a unique insight into the histories, cultures and ecology that shape the northwest and southwest regions. I applied and refined my knowledge of these topics by writing articles for various regional newspapers and magazines. I've worked as both a staff reporter and contributing writer for Larson Newspapers and Western News and Information. I am currently freelance writing for Larson Newspapers while exploring additional opportunities.Content/ design: I have worked with numerous businesses producing video content, ads and physical products such as stickers and signs. I have a working understanding of web design, social media and B2C marketing strategies. I have also helped businesses and individuals by providing written documents, manuals and other materials.Currently, my primary focus is on developing regional-specific transmedia projects, including grant or privately-funded opportunities. I'm continually exploring ideas and expanding my knowledge of digital technology to create unique stories with visual and interactive components.
