As a project engineering intern in Agilent's Nucleic Acid Solutions Division, I was responsible for investigating recently installed samplers that were not passing moisture specs. I Designed an experiment for determining the optimal sampling strategy, coordinated with multiple departments for safe experiment execution, and gave a recommendation for successful future implementation of samplers to leadership based on the testing results. Among this, I assisted in qualification and validation runs for the startup of a new production train, learned the ins and outs of the oligonucleotide manufacturing process, and inventoried/consolidated numerous spare parts for an expansion of production at the facility.

I set up and ran methanol oxidation reaction experiments in a cell with various catalysts/conditions so that the reaction kinetics can be further understood, and better catalysts for fuel cells can be created in the future. Voltammetry was used for data collection, and I wrote scientific reports on reaction theory, lab methods, and experimental results.
