The driving force in pursuing my nursing career has always been a deep passion for helping those in need. Growing up, I wasn't sure what that would look like for me and I could never quite pin point where I saw myself in the future. I didn't take the traditional education route straight out of high school like many of my peers; instead I worked my way up in the restaurant industry and took a few classes here and there at the local community college in Columbus Ohio. After a few years of being out in the "real" world, gaining work experience and learning valuable life lessons, I longed for more direction and meaning in my life. I went back to the drawing board; I evaluated my life as it was and where I wanted it to be. It was around this time that I started to make real changes in my life. I become more goal oriented and driven in my pursuit to a better future for myself that would involve my passion for helping people.After enrolling in a few prerequisite classes that could apply towards a nursing degree, I knew I had made the right decision; and after being accepted into The Ohio State University's College of Nursing, I was thrilled to embark on this journey towards my career in nursing.In the clinical setting, I love applying hands on skills that I learn every time I’m in the hospital, and I strive to deliver the safest, evidence based, and empathetic care to all the patients I encounter. My specialties include communication skills, leadership, devotional work ethic, and problem solving. I am continuously looking for opportunities to broaden by knowledge in healthcare systems and I am grateful for the invaluable experiences that I have been able to gain thus far.
