During my first postdoc, I worked on computational genomics projects under the mentorship of Dr. Klaus Kaestner and Dr. Mitch Lazar. Both labs focus on molecular aspects of Diabetes and Obesity, with an emphasis on transcriptional regulation and genome-wide methods.
I earned a Ph.D. in Genomics and Computational Biology while working on independent research projects under the mentorship of Dr. Sridhar Hannenhalli and Dr. Stephen Master.
I worked for two semesters as a teaching assistant for a graduate course titled "Introduction to Bioinformatics". The course focused on teaching bioinformatic methods to both molecular biology and computer science masters and doctoral students. My responsibilities included designing homework and computer lab activities, teaching the lab sessions, and grading.
During my early academic career I worked as a freelance tutor in math and science. I have tutored in high school level math, physics, and chemistry, and introductory college level algebra and physics.
