My role at LASR (Land Air, and Space Robotics) includes managing my own individual projects as well as acting in a supporting role for larger-scale efforts involving the entire lab.Individual projects so far have included designing, building, and testing a smart charger for the lab's primary simulation platform, HOMER. The charger is designed to provide power to batteries in the platform's multiple casters, and to shut off automatically if the temperature in the batteries rises above a given value. This project has given me added experience in circuit design and interfacing with hardware, as well as general experience with the process of design, troubleshooting, and creation of a final product.Supporting projects at the lab have included assisting in designing and building a simulation of Martian terrain for testing purposes, as well as supporting the continued development of LASR's simulation platform.

Assisted in designing and building recovery system for a 10 foot tall, 6 inch diameter rocket. This is the largest rocket built in the history of the school, intended to be launched at the Rocket Engineering Competition on June 26-28, 2014. Specifically, my role was to design and manufacture the explosive deployment system and assist in manufacturing the carbon fiber body tube, fins, and nose cone.

Collaborated with NASA to design and build a satellite scheduled for launch in 2014. Worked with SolidWorks model of the satellite itself. Focused on correcting various issues within the model, including adjusting wire gauges while maintaining compatibility with other satellite components. Also conducted virtual frequency tests on various components to confirm structural integrity during launch and final deployment from the International Space Station.Also soldered various components, included battery boxes scheduled for future placement on the satellite.
