As a Senior Ruby on Rails Software Engineer, I am part of an agile development team, building and working on enterprise-grade software systems composed of primarily Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, React, GraphQL, and various AWS services. I am a key member of the backend engineering team, partnering and collaborating with other engineers to continuously improve Single Stop/Fedcap software within the principles of AWS Well-Architected Framework. I contribute to technical and team leadership through peer review and pairing. My essential job functions include writing effective and scalable code in Ruby, building back-end components for web applications, developing, designing, and documenting API services in GraphQL, and assisting with technical requirements and development of user stories particularly in non-product-owned areas like technical debt, architecture, data modeling, etc. I also participate in peer-reviews of design, architecture, and code of software solutions, support deployment and release planning, and research and evaluate a variety of software products.

Hired to help finish and onboard a new financial CRM system. Worked with one other developer to create a system that combines the best parts of several financial applications all under one app. Primary stack used is Ruby on Rails.Tasks include:- Setting up 2FA and password reset functions- Designing an automated PDF form filler. No open source solution exists for this purpose, we used a combination of several libraries working together to achieve our goal.- Setting up automated server deployment through Digital Ocean. Now able to serve a new instance based off any branch, automates SSL through Let's Encrypt- Migration wizard for other financial CRM databases.- Custom automatic error reporting

Managed a team of 2-3 talented software engineers. Was in charge of handling and assigning new projects, delegating responsibilities, and communicating with other departments and customers. Worked directly with several major e-commerce (Redbubble, CVS, Walmart) websites to create custom endpoint solutions for them. Also set up requests to retrieve labels from Fedex, UPS, USPS, DHL, DHL Germany, Spring, Landmark, and Deutschepost. Worked with Manual as they expanded to both Germany and Mexico facilities.

Was promoted to a standard developer role after senior engineer left. My co-worker and I shared responsibilities of the Senior Developer role. We now directly handled custom integrations of order placement API's with major e-commerce companies including Vistaprint and Teespring. Helped onboard a new ERP system in the middle of a busy season, developed features for the ERP system to replace ERP functionality that was either missing or did not function properly.

Worked under a senior rails engineer creating a rails app to control internal web apps for the factory floor workers. Also included setting up reports, solving IT tickets, creating ZPL labels, and maintaining documentation. Worked with a small talented team of 3 on a Rails stack with an Ember.js front end. Our goal was to transition an aging legacy XML endpoint for accepting orders, into a faster, sleeker JSON api.

Wrote C scripts for an inventory management system. Remote position while I was at college, 20 hours a week. I was contacted after college to see if continuing was a possibility, however had already accepted a full time position.
