My main accountabilities and achievements are as follows:• Coordinated and managed the main electrical deliverables for all packages for the projects, including defining the main design criteria and functional design requirements of main HVAC, HVDC, MV and LV systems associated with main electrical equipment, export cables, inter-array cables and wind turbine generators, managing the work of a team of engineers/specialists in the aforementioned areas.• Led the management of the suppliers, contractors and consultants in undertaking electrical system studies and other technical electrical assessments for the project and liaised with the electrical team regarding requirements for all electrical design interface information required between all packages.• Acted as highest authority in the projects with regards to electrical design and all associated electrical engineering aspects.• Provided technical advice and direction to help drive engineering and overall project strategies, in relation to all matters that affect the design, contracting strategies, planning, budgets, programme, etc.• Identified and managed interfaces, risks and opportunities associated with the electrical design for the projects.• Supported and managed aspects related to project Bilateral Connection Agreement and Operation Notification Compliance Process activities.• Ensured compliance with existing Iberdrola/Scottish Power Renewables standard specifications, design procedures, guidelines and other governing documentation, and contributed to future revisions where required, through lessons learned or industry recommended changes.• Ensured that corporate H&SE policies are continually adhered to and industry best practice was following, whilst also contributing and actively inputting to project area HAZOP’s and Design Safety Plans.

Responsible for leading and managing the main electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, etc., up to 400kV voltage level) engineering design and implementation activities, at all stages from development through to delivery, for both the onshore and offshore substations required for the EA1N and EA2 offshore windfarm projects.My key responsbilities for this role were:• Supporting the requisite electrical design and system studies activities to develop and support a robust electrical design basis appropriate for the necessary stages of project development.• Leading the main electrical equipment package scope of work and tendering stage to ensure that main electrical equipment is specified, designed, manufactured, installed, tested, stored, delivered to site, installed and commissioned to meet project requirements and industry best practice.• Ensure that all technical assessments, advice and recommendations are fully documented in accordance with all internal procedures and industry best practice, and that sufficient technical and commercial due diligence (whether internal or external) exists to support those business decisions.• Coordination with other key packages within the project (i.e. offshore substation fabrication, onshore substation civil, export cable, etc.) to ensure that all interfaces are managed effectively and the scope is clearly defined and agreed for each area.• Leading a small team of engineers to ensure that the deliverables for the main electrical equipment package is met.

Working within the SP Energy Networks Operational Control Center (OCC), providing extensive support to the control room operations and planning teams, for both transmission and distribution areas.Main areas of responsibility included:• Responsible and main point of contact for incidents reported to the HSE, as part of the company obligations under ESQCR 2002.• Interfaced with Scottish Power Distribution operational districts and design teams in relation to distribution faults, identifying key fault trends.• Carried out analysis of faults at 11kV level, using fault recorder monitoring systems and utilising data to carry out impedance tracing for identifying fault locations, and any developing patterns.• Responsible for Scottish Power Transmission performance reporting to OFGEM.
