The growth of technology has been rising at an unprecedented rate for a long time, but now, with the emergence of Artificial Intelligence, the world finds itself on the cusp of a new era. An era where almost any daily task can be driven or aided by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its tools. Growing up, I consistently heard the quintessential phrase many of my collegiate peers also heard: “Oh, you’re good at science and math, you should be an engineer”. I embraced that idea and took all the math, science, and engineering courses I could. However, my perspective shifted when I took my first coding course. The course opened my eyes to the immense importance of technology and its part in shaping the future. I knew I wanted to be a part of that. Later, through a digital electronics course, I saw how the concepts of coding and logic could be practically implemented in the physical world. This synergy between hardware and software helped me realize that Computer Engineering was the path for me. Today, my passion has led to a unique technical skill set in programming languages like Python, Javascript, Java, C, and MATLAB, paired with an advanced understanding of circuitry and the hardware behind electronics. It’s this combination that has enabled me to tackle several practical applications in projects here at Purdue and succeed in industry positions I've held. With declared concentrations in Software Engineering and AI/Machine Learning under my Computer Engineering degree here at Purdue, I hope to continue to harbor a skill set merging hardware and software. As I said, the world continues to integrate more and more with technology and I want to be poised to be right at the forefront of this integration, contributing to shaping the future of innovation.
